One Year Ago...

Last summer around this time my Dad, Justin, and I were beginning our back east journey. We began by catching our flight to Philadelphia, PA, our seats were in first class so I had no complaints throughout the flight. We got to Philly at about 2:00 A.M. and found our hotel so we could go to bed and be ready to embark on our back east adventure. We had only one day in Philly which was spent by going to Five guys and catching a Philly's game against the in-state rivalry Pittsburgh Pirates. Right after the game we took a two hour drive into New York City. We enjoyed our stay in the Big Apple by going to Central park and the Temple and all that New York has to offer, we even ate at a New York Pizza joint. the next day we drove to Boston, and on the way some cool towns in Connecticut and Rhode Island which were really amazing and pretty. We finally made it to Boston which is probably one of my favorite places on Earth. We toured the streets of beautiful Boston and that night we caught a Boston Red Sox game, which was one of the coolest things I've done. The next day after visiting the Boston temple, we made a quick stop in Scranton, PA. As some of you know i'm an avid Office fan, and so going to Scranton was very cool to me. Then we made our stop in Gettysburg. After seeing the sights of Gettysburg we were on the road again going to Charolettesville, VA. In Charolettesville we got to see the UVA campus and took a short drive to Monticello where Thomas Jeffersons house was. (building on the back of the Nickel) After that we made a drive down to the outer banks of North Carolina, which was very awesome. The beach there was simply amazing, because it was a 14 mile strip of beach almost all to yourself. After two days there we drove to Raleigh, NC to visit my cousin Meagan and Paul Peterson, we didn't do too much in Raleigh and since we only had a couple days left to be on our trip we made the last drive to our final destination, Atlanta, GA. In Atlanta we visited some more cousins, Brian and April Atwood. That day Justin, My Dad, and I hiked to the top of the largest free standing piece of Granite on earth, the view was breathtaking. Our flight home was at 4:00 A.M. so we only got a couple hours of sleep in till we flew home. It sure was an amazing trip I would love to do it agian (hint hint... dad) If you'd like to read a much better version of our trip that is updated day to day go to http://daviesfam.com/backeast/?p=7
